Gracie Snell

Transitional Worker

I currently work for Barod as a Transitional Worker for Gwent-N-gage; my rewarding role includes supporting young adults with their journey to accessing support from GDAS, the Gwent Drug and Alcohol Service for Adults. The importance of developing this transitional strand stemmed from identifying that a high proportion of individuals drop out of service after turning 18 due to feeling incompetent with complying to the more structured approach of an adult service. I am also training to be a Health Psychologist and so I enjoy embedding psychological theory within my role.
Area of interest: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
Random fact: When I was 12 years old, I was the fastest in the UK at 50m Butterly for my age group.
