Lowri Allison
Case Worker
I have worked for Barod for 8 years. I started off as an administrator and was inspired by the brilliant work my colleagues were doing with young people in the area. I’m now a Case Worker for Gwent N-gage and I feel lucky to have a job I really love! Seeing young people achieve the goals they’ve set is one of my favourite parts of my role.Outside of work I love going for long walks, exploring the beautiful mountains and countryside close to me helps me to destress.
Area of interest: Psychology of the brain, the teenage brain in particular. There are so many changes and developments in the brain during adolescence which I find fascinating. Learning about and having a knowledge and understanding of the teenage brain enables me to help my Young People understand themselves and make sense of some of their behaviours such why they might engage in more risk-taking behaviours/ activities.
Random fact: When I was younger, I accidently became a child model and was in magazines, leaflets and posters in airports all over the world!
